Physiotherapist

Why did you choose physiotherapy?

Two things were very important when choosing a study: I wanted to do something with people and absolutely no office job. In addition, the human body was something that interested me immensely and I wanted to do more with it.

With physiotherapy, the combination was perfect, learning about the human body and being active with the patient in the exercise room/treatment room.

What gives you the most energy in this profession?

I enjoy practicing my profession and it also gives me the necessary energy. I like to look at the person behind the request for help with regard to the posture and musculoskeletal system. Together with the patient, we continuously look for what they need to reduce their complaints. After all, no person is the same, everyone needs a different approach.

Which sport do you practice in your spare time and how long have you been doing this?

Sports have been something that has given me a lot of energy from an early age. I used to play hockey, but unfortunately I had to say goodbye to this great sport due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. During my student years I was a member of a rowing club, for which I developed a great passion. However, I now spend a lot of time at CrossFit and have recently also started doing rocycle.

During the winter months I love taking a week’s skiing holiday. And while I can enjoy the snow in the winter, in the summer I can also really enjoy getting a breath of fresh air on the Frisian waters and going sailing.
